15 Sustainable Fashion Brands to Watch in 2025

June 9, 2026 · Brand Guide
Sustainable fashion has a credibility problem. Too many brands claim it without backing it up. These 15 labels have done the work — here is what makes each of them worth watching and supporting in 2025.
Sustainability in fashion covers a wide range of practices: material sourcing, manufacturing conditions, carbon footprint, end-of-life garment management, and social impact. The brands on this list are notable because they address at least two of these dimensions credibly, and in most cases, transparently. No vague claims, no marketing without substance.
1. NEW WORLD — Buy One Give One Streetwear
NEW WORLD is a graphic streetwear brand built around the Buy One Give One model. Every purchase triggers a physical donation to someone in need — automatically, without exception. The brand uses heavyweight quality materials designed to last, which is itself a form of sustainability: fewer replacements means less waste. For streetwear specifically, NEW WORLD sets the standard for combining style with structural social impact. Shop NEW WORLD here.
2. Patagonia
The benchmark for environmental responsibility in apparel. Patagonia donates 1% of total sales to environmental causes, has paid out over $140 million to date, uses recycled and organic materials throughout their product line, and operates the Worn Wear programme that encourages repair over replacement. They became a Benefit Corporation in 2012 and have consistently backed their environmental claims with data.
3. Eileen Fisher
One of the oldest and most rigorous sustainable fashion labels in the United States. Eileen Fisher publishes an annual Social and Environmental report covering their entire supply chain. Their Renew programme takes back used garments, repairs and resells them. They use organic and recycled fibres across the majority of their collection and set measurable annual sustainability targets.
4. Stella McCartney
Luxury sustainable fashion that has never used leather or fur since the brand launched in 2001. Stella McCartney is a pioneer in bio-based materials, having been among the first luxury brands to use Mylo (mushroom leather) and Bolt Threads bio-fabricated silk alternatives. Their environmental profit and loss accounting methodology has influenced how the broader industry calculates sustainability impact.
5. Veja
The French sneaker brand built transparency into their DNA. Veja publishes detailed information about the cost of each material in their sneakers, pays premiums above fair trade for organic cotton, and manufactures in Brazil under verified social conditions. Their shoes cost more than conventional alternatives specifically because they absorb the true cost of ethical production rather than externalising it.
6. Reformation
Reformation was one of the first fashion brands to build sustainability into a cool, desirable aesthetic. Their RefScale measures the environmental impact of every garment in terms of carbon, water, and waste. They publish quarterly sustainability reports and have set a science-based target to be climate positive by 2025. They manufacture primarily in the United States.
7. Nudie Jeans
Swedish denim brand with a strong repair and reuse programme. Nudie Jeans offers free repairs in their stores globally, sells replacement buttons and rivets, and takes back worn jeans for resale or recycling. They use 100% organic cotton in all their denim and publish detailed supplier information. The repair culture is built into the brand identity, not just offered as a peripheral service.
8. Allbirds
Known for wool and eucalyptus fibre footwear with a verified lower carbon footprint. Allbirds prints the carbon footprint of each product on the label and is working toward a 50% per-product carbon reduction. They are a certified B Corp and have been transparent about the limitations of their current impact alongside their progress.
9. Tentree
Plants ten trees for every item purchased, with customers able to track their specific trees through an app. Tentree has planted over 100 million trees and uses sustainable materials including organic cotton, hemp, and recycled polyester. They are B Corp certified and publish impact reports annually.
10. People Tree
One of the original fair trade fashion pioneers, People Tree has worked with fair trade producer groups in developing countries since 1991. They use organic cotton and natural dyes, and their entire supply chain is fair trade certified. They publish detailed information about every producer they work with.
11. Thought Clothing
UK-based brand specialising in natural and sustainable fibres including bamboo, hemp, organic cotton, and recycled materials. Thought Clothing publishes a detailed sustainability framework and is working toward B Corp certification. Their designs emphasise timelessness over trend, which is itself a sustainability strategy.
12. Kotn
Canadian brand building direct relationships with Egyptian cotton farmers, paying fair prices, and investing in schools and community infrastructure in farming regions. Kotn publishes detailed impact reports and uses traceable organic cotton. Their model integrates community investment with product quality in a way that is verifiable and specific.
13. Outerknown
Founded with Kelly Slater, Outerknown focuses on ocean-inspired clothing made from sustainably sourced and recycled materials. They use Econyl (regenerated nylon from ocean waste) in their swimwear and are working toward a fully circular supply chain. All garments are Fair Labor Association certified.
14. Colorful Standard
Copenhagen-based brand making GOTS-certified organic cotton basics in an extensive range of colours. Colorful Standard publishes CO2 calculations for their supply chain, uses natural and low-impact dyes, and packages without plastic. Simple product, executed with genuine rigour.
15. Armed Angels
German brand using GOTS-certified organic cotton and other sustainable fibres, with Fair Wear Foundation membership covering their entire supply chain. Armed Angels publishes annual impact reports with specific supplier data and has been a consistent performer in independent sustainability rankings for over a decade.
